College Preparation Course

RNID – Action on Hearing Loss, Scotland Transitions Project supports young deaf and hard of hearing people, aged 16-25, living in Central Scotland to have a smooth transition from school to college/university and into employment. We provide support to create CV’s, search for jobs or training, complete application forms as well as interview skills. We can also source work experience placements and support to build life skills.

Going to college can be a daunting prospect, young people may be unsure of what to expect. We have organised a College Preparation Course which will take place over 3 days in June to give those thinking of going to college experience of what is involved.

The details are as follows

Dates: 14-16th June 2011
Times: 10am-3.30pm each day

  • May bike event onSunday 15th May – next part for those who came this month (17thApril) and also new faces to join up – feel free to come to learn cycling withconfidence delivered by Deaf bike trainers
  • I am hoping toarrange every two weeks (fortnightly) in May 10th or 24th(and hopefully June too) for those who have bikes already or want to borrowbikes as we have four bikes available (need to book it soon!!) – these eventsare to go for a long cycle along paths in Glasgowor outside Glasgow– good way to improve fitness.

This suits - Deaf students who want breaks from studying or Mumsor Dads who have children at school to come out for a few hours to enjoycycling. Also to try out cycling then maybe buy bikes themselves infuture.
