Deaf Community Cycle Coop (DEAFinitely Cycling)
Folks – (cyclists or soon to be interested in cycling)
This Sunday’s event – please try come because:
· We are giving free buffs (with map of Glasgow printed on them) and reflector bands (can be on legs or arms) and some maps of cycle paths in and around Glasgow
· Got a bike? then bring it as cycle leaders/mechanics can check it out for you if safe and also to go for a cycle with those others who also bring bikes for an hour or two!!!
· If no bike then can try one of our own bikes – at the moment we have 7 bikes and awaiting delivery of three children’s bikes ( hopefully will come before Sunday!!)
· Learn how to replace or repair flat tubes
· Learn how to keep bikes clean and well oiled especially autumn and winter coming!!!
· Know names and parts of bikes
· Know how to use road safety by good proper signalling and good cycling skills
Also know more about climate change and reduce carbon dioxide (C02), improve your carbon footprint – see Paul for more information – cycling/biking is a great way to reduce C02!! But get fitter and healthier too!! Know how to recycle like glass, plastics and papers, reduce waste of electricity, gas and water
Hopefully see you there at Deaf Connections on Sunday from 12 noon !!
